Margaret Kemarre OAM is the Senior Partner and driving force for the Akerte Arenye enterprise. Her vision to establish an Indigenous enterprise was inspired by concerns she had for the importance of maintaining her language and culture and providing a future for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She has worked as an educator, interpreter and ambassador for Arrernte people, and has been instrumental in establishing the Ngkarte Mikwekenhe Community Centre. She has produced Arrente literature and is a matriarch of Eastern and Central Arrernte people.
