Relationship to Country

ITNEKERRE AKEYE: refers to the other skin group of landowners for country.

ANUKERREKEYE: Kngwarraye, Peltharre, Pengarte and Penangke or vice versa.

MALYENUK: Perurrle, Kemarre, Ngale and Mpetyane.

ALTYERREKEKE: my place; through the mother.

eg: when you dream of your mother’s country, the story or ancestors from there then that tells you that somebody is coming in relation to your mother’s side of the family.

ATYAKEKE: my place; from the grandfather through the father.

IPMENEKEKE: grandmother from mother’s mother.

PERLEKEKE: (perleperle) my grandmother from the father.

APMENEKEKE: refers to sister and brother grandparents.

YAYE: big sister

ATYEYE TYE: little sister

ATYENGE ATYEYE: my sister/my brother

ALERE ALERE: brother’s son (nephew)

IMPARTYE IMPARTYE: sister’s son (nephew)

KAKE ILENEKENHE LKENELENGHE: sister and brother’s sons (together)

ANKULE NENGHE: cousins from sister and brother

ILERRE ATYENHE: mother-in-law

IMPARTYE IMPARTYE: father-in-law

NTINGE: sister-in-law

NPURNE: brother-in-law

MINYE: grandson/grand-daughter
