Organisational mission statement

To maintain a culturally sensitive & supportive Community Development Centre that improves the lives of the Eastern & Central Arrernte family groups and individuals committed to the Ngkarte Mikwekenhe Community.

To enhance individual, family & community capacity through a capacity building process, that is innovative, holistic & intergenerational.

To coordinate a range of services based on local solutions to local problems, leadership development, early intervention, prevention & action research principles.

Organisational Aims

• To be a charitable body and provide services to the Eastern Arrernte families committed to the Ngkarte Mikwekenhe Community Inc. (NMC)

• To ensure that Eastern Arrernte people participating in the Ngkarte Mikwekenhe capacity building process enjoy an improved and healthy life that is enhanced by increased cultural pride, dignity and justice.

• To provide programs in and access to services in the areas of Community Development, Arrernte Language & Culture, Health & Well-Being, Work & Enterprise Development and other infrastructure essential to improving lives.

• To enhance the lifestyles and opportunities for family groups by providing better access to programs, services & engagement within the local & wider community.

• To encourage and promote a positive relationship between Eastern Arrernte and Non Eastern Arrernte persons within the Community of Central Australia & wider Australian community.

• To maintain a culturally supportive capacity building centre.
